02What runs, and what waits for you
Analytics wait for you. The site uses two kinds: FEC's own audience measurement and Google Analytics. When you first visit, the site asks whether you accept them. Until you choose "Accept", neither runs, and nothing is stored for them. If you choose "Decline", the site works exactly the same. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as "Decline". You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page.
FEC's own audience measurement uses a random identifier in your browser, not a cookie. The identifier does not say who you are, but it tells one browser apart from another, so we treat it as personal information. It is read only by FEC, never shared, records your country but never your IP address, and expires after 13 months.

If spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) is switched on, it uses what it strictly needs to check that the review form is sent by a person. This is needed for security, so it does not wait for your choice.
04In our emails
Emails from FEC contain a small image and tracked links that tell us whether the email was opened and which links were clicked. They are not cookies on this site, and your choice on the banner does not control them. To prevent them, turn off the automatic loading of images in your email app. The Privacy Policy explains more.
